Jeffery A McCrystal's start as a musician came at the tender age of 6. learning to play guitar first he eventually expanded his interest to bass,violin and keyboards. At the age of 12, he was playing in clubs. In 1979 he met Donnie Root and Terry Barrett to form Eye's in the Tree's performing almost every night. In 1983 Jeff and Donnie teamed up with drummer John McIntyre to form Apparition. In 1990 Jeff's interest turned to country,playing with The Fire Water band.1996 saw him in an alternative band called The McClains until 2006 when he rejoined Donnie and John to become one of THE HOOTS.
