John began studing the snare drum at the age of 12 and advanced to a complete drum set by 14. He was in the band Middle of the Road while still in High School and after graduation he formed Apparition with Donnie Root. He's recorded with Ham Sandwich, Blue Tantrum, and has played on many different recordings and jingles. A big Kinks fan, one of the highlights of his career was opening up for Dave Davies of the Kinks. He also opened up for Freddie Salem, 38 Special, and Canned Heat.
